RFI / EMI Shielding

Knitwire Trading (PTY) Ltd manufactures and supplies knitted wire mesh solutions for radio frequency interference (RFI) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding. Our products are used to protect sensitive electronic equipment from external interference and to contain emissions generated by electrical and electronic systems.

Knitted wire mesh provides a flexible and reliable shielding solution, particularly where gaps, joints, or irregular surfaces must be sealed.

The interlocking loop structure of knitted wire mesh creates multiple conductive contact points, forming an effective electromagnetic barrier. Unlike rigid shielding materials, knitted mesh can compress and recover, allowing it to maintain contact even in applications subject to vibration or movement.

This makes knitted mesh ideal for enclosure seams, access panels, and removable covers.

RFI / EMI shielding products can be supplied in several formats, including:

• Knitted mesh gaskets
• Strips and profiles with various cross-sectional shapes
• Mesh cores with elastomer support
• Sleeves and cable wraps

Cable wrap mesh is supplied as flattened, continuous tape that can be spirally wrapped around cables and loom assemblies. Overlapping layers increase shielding effectiveness.
